Weathered, termite-eaten timber, the kind of rot and damage steel avoids

Steel framing / Non-decaying

Steel doesn't rot.

Wood decays. It swells, warps, moulds, and feeds the termites that thrive in Southern California. Cold-formed steel does none of that. The frame stays true for decades - no tenting every 10 years needed.

Steel framing

Termites don't eat steel

Termites are relentless in California, and wood is their food. A single colony can work inside a wall for years before anyone notices. Steel gives them nothing to eat. There is no cellulose to draw them in, no soft core to hollow out, and no annual bait stations or tent fumigation to keep the structure standing. The frame that goes up is the frame that stays.

Water is not the enemy it is for wood

When wood gets wet it swells, cups, and eventually rots, and the mould that follows is both a structural and a health problem. Cold-formed steel does not absorb water, so a leak or a humid crawlspace does not start a slow collapse inside the wall. Our steel is galvanised for corrosion resistance, and because every member is roll-formed to a precise spec, the assembly stays dimensionally stable through wet winters and dry summers alike.

It stays true for decades

Decay in wood is slow and invisible. Studs bow, joists sag, and door frames rack years after the build is signed off. Steel members hold their shape. Straight walls stay straight, square corners stay square, and the tolerances we roll-form into the frame are the tolerances the building keeps. That stability is what lets the structure outlast the finishes, the fixtures, and the owners who come after.

In short

No cellulose to feed termites
Does not rot, mould, or warp
Galvanised against corrosion
Dimensionally stable for decades

Build a frame that will not decay, and the structure keeps the shape it was designed with.
