Walnut Avenue

On Walnut Avenue in El Segundo, we grew a much-loved family home without losing what made it feel like home. The centerpiece was a substantial addition that extended the existing footprint to give the family the square footage and flow they had outgrown, framed and finished to read as if it had always been part of the house. We carried the original lines, proportions, and detailing through the new construction so the seams disappear and the addition feels native rather than bolted on.

At the street, we added a new front porch that resets the home's first impression, giving the entry presence and shade while creating an outdoor room that ties the facade together. Out back, we built a new detached garage from the ground up, matching the materials and character of the main house so the property reads as a single, considered composition rather than a collection of separate projects.

The result is a home that lives larger and welcomes better while staying true to its El Segundo roots. As with every project we take on, we managed design and construction under one roof, keeping the work tight, the timeline disciplined, and the craftsmanship consistent from the porch boards to the garage framing.
