..this was his first taste of applied mathematics. In 1994 he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Math with Magna Cum Laude honors. He spent the following four years in management working for a national retailer where he learned to develop and implement effective systems and thrived in an intense, demanding, and fast-paced environment.
This proved to be excellent training for construction years later. In 1999 he joined his sister Rosa and set up a CAD system for designing homes. He quickly mastered the latest 3D design tools and in 2001 became a trainer for a software reseller where he delivered training courses to clients such as Walt Disney Imagineering. Mariano chose to start Green Building by Design after becoming a certified Green Building Professional in 2009. He resolved to develop the house of the future, which had to be in accordance with the five principles of Green Building:
- Natural Lighting
- Energy Efficiency
- Natural Ventilation
- Material Conservation
- Indoor Air Quality
Mariano’s goal for the company is to create and orchestrate effective and efficient ways to design and build to provide beautiful and functional housing.
